In 2024, the Danish entertainment market generated DKK16.1 billion in revenue, marking an increase from 2023. While Pay-TV continued to provide a strong foundation—contributing DKK7.2 billion—it was overtaken for the first time by SVoD revenue. As a result, SVoD became the largest segment, driven by aggressive bundling strategies and the growing adoption of ad-supported tiers.
The theatrical segment remained resilient in terms of admissions, outperforming other Nordic regions despite a weaker Hollywood slate, thanks to a loyal audience base. Digital transactional revenue declined by double digits, while physical sell-through experienced a more moderate decline, with the segment beginning to show signs of stabilisation.
